Rail Vehicle Mechanical Fitter

RYKO a.s. is recruiting five full-time Rail Vehicle Mechanical Fitters in Děčín, Czechia, at Dělnická 1408/29, Děčín VI-Letná, 405 02 Děčín 2. A wholly Czech, family-owned company with more than a century of history, RYKO inspects and repairs freight wagons for customers across Europe. It employs more than 350 people and has work contracted for several years ahead, offering a stable family-company environment with straightforward communication and a personal approach. This manual role involves repairing freight wagons and their components: grinding, cleaning, blasting, drilling, turning, dismantling, inspecting, replacing parts and reassembling. You will dismantle wagon components, inspect, repair or replace them, and take measurements. Tasks include working on bolted joints, straightening sheet metal, replacing grating or boards, lubricating buffers, testing brakes and completing inspection reports. Equipment includes angle grinders, pneumatic tools, socket sets, oxy-fuel equipment, measuring devices and computers; some employees also use welding equipment. Several months of training are provided by experienced colleagues, with opportunities to train in flame cutting, welding, brake maintenance, painting, signwriting or pressure testing, or progress to team leader or foreman. Applicants need manual dexterity, relevant work experience, care, accuracy, responsibility and a willingness to work occasional overtime, approximately 12 hours per month. Vocational training in a trade such as mechanical fitting, mechanics, mechanical engineering, vehicle mechanics or plumbing is an advantage. Work is in a single-shift or two-shift system, with morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays; Sundays are always free. The start date is by agreement. The listed salary is CZK 35,000–45,000 per month, comprising fixed and performance-related components. Starting pay depends on knowledge and experience; pay during training and opportunities for progression will be discussed at interview. All required overtime is paid, with additional bonuses for unusually high overtime hours.
